POSITION AVAILABILITY

Volunteer positions are not filled on a first-come, first-served basis. While it’s true that we can use all the help we can get, we have a limited number of spaces for certain positions, like workshop leaders, band coaches, and instrument instructors. We strive to create a volunteer base that reflects the diversity of our campers, and believe in prioritizing people of color in leadership roles whenever possible. Girls Rock New Orleans believes in self-determination of gender. Summer Rock Camp welcomes individuals who self-identify as female (both trans and cis-gendered) and/or non-binary to apply for mentorship positions at camp. Non-mentorship roles are open to individuals who self-identify as female, male, and/or non-binary.

A special note to male-identified allies:

Girls Rock New Orleans is led by and for women and girls. We value diversity, inclusion, and sensitivity towards all individuals, regardless of gender identity or expression. The organization welcomes the support of male-identified allies (both trans and cis-gendered), and expects male-identified allies who would like to volunteer to respect the importance of leadership by women. If you have questions about what this means in the camp space, please email: GirlsRockNewOrleans@gmail.com

CANCELLATIONS

PLEASE sign up only for positions you think you can fully commit to. Once you have been assigned your role(s) for camp, it is your responsibility to inform us by email immediately if your availability changes. Last-minute cancellations may negatively affect your ability to volunteer with GRNO in the future.

NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY

Girls Rock New Orleans does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national and/or ethnic origin, marital status, sexual orientation, mental or physical ability, gender identity or expression.
